serving Lake Nona and the greater Orlando area provided by our licensed optometrist Dr. Michelle Hanley.
We will spend more time with you.
We refuse to let vision plans dictate how we run our business, so we don’t take them. Instead of what has become the status quo, we are breaking out of the box. We schedule patients further apart to allow for more time spent with each patient. Typically we spend 30 to 60 minutes with each patient. We offer a retinal health screening included with your comprehensive exam. No extra fee necessary. We also offer a dry eye spa treatment while you’re dilating. Why? If you’re reading this, you’re on an electronic device, which causes dry eye.
We offer different choices in eye wear.
Let’s talk glasses. Tired of seeing the same frames everywhere you go? Yeah, we are too. We’ve decided to step away from all that by going independent. So you might not recognize our brand names, and that’s okay. We focus more on quality, so you’ll find your glasses won’t have to be adjusted as often. We want you to love the way you look and the way you feel. And if you do recognize our brands? Hello, fellow luxury eye wear lover.
We look forward to serving Lake Nona, Orlando, St. Cloud, Kissimmee, and all surrounding areas.
Dr Hanley did her undergraduate at University of Florida (go Gators!). She grew up in Wisconsin, joined the Army National Guard as a combat medic (68W), and moved down to Florida just in time for four hurricanes (activated for every single one). She is also a veteran of a foreign war, having also been deployed to Afghanistan. She is the mother of one, a daughter, who she loves to spend time with. Like most mothers, she enjoys bragging about her child, so if you want to have a lengthy conversation, ask her about Page. She also enjoys eating out at delicious restaurants and traveling. And she finds random information interesting.
Dr Michelle Hanley has been practicing optometry in Orlando for over seven years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2014 and moved to Lake Nona. She started working at an optometrist office in Kissimmee for 2.5 years. After that, she went to Florida Eye Clinic in Ocoee, where she worked alongside ophthalmologists for 3.5 years. After COVID, she decided it was a good time to finally start her own practice. Innovation Eye Care opened in August of 2021. Dr Hanley has experience in specialty contact lenses (sclerals and GPs), glaucoma management, and medical optometry. Her newest interest is myopia control for children.
We are sure our services will fit your need
Comprehensive eye exams includes a group of tests in order to do a complete evaluation of the health of your eyes and your vision.
A contact lens exam will include both a comprehensive eye exam, your general vision prescription and then a contact lens consultation and measurement to determine the proper lens fit.
The doctor will evaluate the cornea for abnormalities that are specifically related to contact lens wear.
Glaucoma monitoring and treatment. Evaluation of other conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and field loss.
A diabetic eye exam is a detailed evaluation of the health of your retina and other parts of the eye that can be affected by diabetes.
Our comprehensive exams for children include the same tests as adults. We also have the option of shapes or numbers if your child cannot read yet. We trial frame the prescription to make sure your child can see. We also offer the option of showing parents what their kids can see without glasses to help them better understand what their child sees every day.
Here is a list of what to do and bring before an exam.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to your appointment to complete patient paperwork.
If you’re a new patient, it’s helpful to bring a copy of your most recent prescription from your previous provider along with your identification card. We are located just outside of Lake Nona.
You can also bring your current eyewear and/or a box of contact lenses for each eye showing your prescription on the label.
Innovation Eye Care is an out of network provider for all vision plans. We use your out of network benefits to reimburse you for all or part of your exam and materials.
A list of current medications and vitamins. Your eye doctor can determine if your medications could be affecting your vision.
It’s a good idea to review a few things you may wish to discuss or share with your eye doctor before the appointment.
